Movies and Meaning-with CCA

November 25, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

This is part of a Film Series regarding the environment Curated by Movies & Meaning.

Movies and Meaning was created to heal our personal and cultural wounds as a diverse community, laugh and cry around the “campfire experience” of great movies, and gain tools for constructive, respectful, and thoughtful dialogue across boundaries. Here’s what they say: “These days the noise of bad, fake, and hurtful stories is loud, harsh, and sometimes overwhelming. The task of creating our better world seems large and difficult to hold. And many people we’ve talked to just seem, for lack of a better word, tired. Movies & Meaning exists to help us rejuvenate, wake up, tell better stories, and make a better world together.”

Join us for a Pot Luck Meal at 6:30 pm followed by the film at 7:00 pm. Suggested Donation $7.00, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

First Reformed is a challenging and difficult film to watch and process even as it is important.

Seeing it in community on the big screen at the White Horse will lead to a good conversation to be sure.

Join if you can – potluck at 6.30 (bring a dish to share if you can), movie at 7, and conversation to follow. Admission is a $7 suggested donation, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.

“First Reformed asks us to take another look at what we think we know about politics, religion and other things we like to argue about, and asks nothing more than our quiet attention.”  A.O. Scott New York Times
