5-week series on reducing our emissions
March 13 @ 7:00 pm - April 10 @ 7:00 pm
Free
Are my concerns about climate change reflected in my actions?
The largest factor causing our climate to change is our collective emissions of greenhouse gases. We can accept responsibility for the actions in our control: our actions that cause emissions. The 5 weekly discussions will provide both an understanding of your emissions and how to take action and reduce your emissions. We will discuss:
-How much greenhouse gas do our personal decisions cause?
-How can we make different choices to reduce our emissions?
-Why should we focus on our own personal emissions when the problem is our collective emissions?
When we act, we live by our faith & values, we lead, we set an example, we give ourselves stronger footing for advocacy positions we take, we signal corporations what products we will purchase, and we reduce emissions. Don’t default to relying on corporations and/or our government to make the best moral judgment for how we live our lives.
Jim Tolbert will give you the information you need to act in alignment with your concern about climate change. After a 28-year career managing environmental cleanups, Jim spent a decade advocating for sound climate action as a volunteer and staff at Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a board member for a bipartisan climate PAC, and a member of the Blue Horizons’ Community Council in Asheville.
