Spend time in prayer, meditation, or contemplation and explore the Sacred Texts from your spiritual tradition

Suggested Practices and Examples for Implementation:

  • Help members of your faith community explore prayer practices, meditations, and reflections that connect them to our call to care for creation
  • Hold space for group reflections on scripture or spiritual practices that connect to creation care and ecosystem health
  • Add meditation or time for silent contemplation during worship
    • Ways to focus on creation through this practice could include a meditation on water in our lives–all the ways that water is present in our day-to-day lives, in our sacred text for the day, etc., ending with gratitude for clean water and a call to protect water.
  • Coordinate “field trips” to sacred places in or around your community
    • This could be a natural space, a built environment/sanctuary, or anywhere that feels connected to the Holy.
