Loving God, help us to act with courage and grace

Loving God, help us to act with courage and grace so that all your creation can flourish. Be with those whose homes, and loved ones, have been lost. May they feel your love like cool water in the August heat. And may we learn to love your world as you do.

We know that these fires and floods are the result of climate change. And we know that there is much we can do to prevent further suffering. Help us do what must be done—as individuals, as communities, and as nations. May we be your hands and feet.

We asked questions about what the trees had to teach us and what the Divine had to offer us. We learned about various species and forest management practices. We moved at the speed of wonder.
